From 1 January 2014, the ADT, along with more than 20 other existing State tribunals, will be integrated into the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal - to be known as 'NCAT'. This change will not impact on the management or resolution of any matters in progress before the ADT. NCAT is a Government initiative that provides a single, accessible gateway to tribunal services for the people of NSW. Information about NCAT is available at http://www.tribunals.lawlink.nsw.gov.au
The main work of the ADT is to:
- review specific administrative decisions made by NSW government agencies
- resolve discrimination and retail lease disputes
- exercise disciplinary powers over some professions.
The ADT is independent of government. Its aim is to be accessible, efficient and fair.
